"Many Muslims claim that, unlike the Bible, the Qur'an has been perfectly preserved to the very word and the very letter; even some say preserved to the very dot. They see this as a sign of the inspiration of the Qur'an, because, according to Surah 15:9, it says, "We have, without doubt, sent down the Message; and We will assuredly guard it (from corruption)" (Yusuf Ali translation). Therefore, they have no other choice but to say that it has been perfectly preserved.
But, is this true? Has the Qur'an been perfectly preserved without any variants, additions, or omissions?
