So praying is virtue and reward but watching film is sin! Then what are
the tools available to us to explain the worshiper of ancient idolatry and
paganism of Meccan?
Why Allah need our prayers? How one can measure and calculate rewards
in terms of quantity and percentage? For example theologians keep telling
worshipers 10 nakees, 70 nakees without any rational backing to it or shedd-
ing any light on the term "nakee" and "sin"? Is it not an image in our minds
the reality of world we are living in because an accident of our birth place?
Can anyone say that tomorrow sun will rise from the west? Can anyone say
that water can clime up to the mountains without giving a human invention
of a pressure pump? Can anyone say that human will grow from land like
trees? If someone is controlling everything as we all force to believe then
things must not act with fix laws. Sun can rise from West, human can grow
like tree, but nothing happened like this.
There is certainly more convincing facts available to human sensory tools
to be tested if our approach to see things scientifically: cause and effect;
everything under law of Physics, is subject to cause and effect and dictate
by law of nature. Newton was not mad when his mind had crossed by ob-
serving the apple fall in front of him. The law of gravity was from the day
one but we the human were ignorant of it. The incident of apple falling had
crossed a mind of human to think an unthinkable. Thinking unthinkable
had led him to discover of the law which is cause to bring everything down
to earth and he named it the law of gravity. The discovery of the secret of
falling things to ground pave the way to think and work to create an anti-
gravity force. The success story is that tons of steels of aeroplanes are
flying in the air transporting hundreds of thousands of passengers from the
city of Islamabad to Jeddah to perform the Islamic ritual. The practice of
hajj was before Islam but there were no aeroplanes only camels. I wonder
why we call the pre-Islam Meccan history as jahiliyya? Our close observa-
tion of today's worshipers, and if we rely on an empirical evidence, it
suggest that in substance and essence they follow the same historical pattern
of pre-Islam Mecca. They too were united in defence to protect their faith
against reason and today's Muslims too are united to protect and defend their
faith against reason. My understanding is that all Prophets including the last
Prophet of Islam came with the weapon of reason to confront the fortress of
faith of jahiliyya, but, the irony is that their followers with the passage of time
sleep walking back into the fortress of faith against reason. If Islamic history
is of any guide, the worshipers in Mecca before Islam while doing Tawaf-e-
Kaba (circling Ka'ba) use to recite the very same talbiya which we do today:
labbayka Allahumma labbayka (‘at your service, O Allah at your service’).

We must do proper research before trying to become imam to others to lead
them in their knowledge to understand world and beyond. To be an ignorant is
not so dangerous but spreading ignorance by exploiting the religious sentiments
of illiterate masses is very dangerous and detrimental to personal rights of
people on one hand and social fabric to every society on other hand.
