The smuggled videos from inside Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), ground reports, and analysis of civil resistance and the Pakistani colonial forces were involved in massacre. The colonial forces fired upon peaceful procession killing at least 11 Kashmiris and injuring more than 30. In our opinion this is war crime and the UN and ICC must dispatch the fact finding mission so that the victims can get the justice with delay.
On the circulating ground videos are clear evidence of war crimes.
Videos and messages attributed to people in or near Rawalakot (including appeals describing bodies, wounded, blood, and gunshot injuries) have been shared widely today via social media and other outlets but government of Pakistan continue imposing total media and internet blackout and fabricated stories by Pakistani media which is part of Pakistan Intel and also not at the ground.
When the government does not allow local and international media to visit the protesters and speak with them independently, the question of independent confirmation does not arise—especially in a situation where no one is permitted to visit the crime scene of the forces’ actions against innocent people.
Al Jazeera and other outlets have reported cumulative deaths exceeding 45 (and hundreds injured) since the unrest began in June, along with large gatherings in Rawalakot, yet the government has barred them from visiting the area. The government’s purpose in creating an iron curtain in AJK is to carry out these acts without anyone from the outside world being able to see them. This is a clear indication from the outset of using violence as a political tool to terrorize the population.
The right to peaceful assembly and protest is a fundamental human right under instruments such as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (to which Pakistan is a party). Restrictions must be lawful, necessary, and proportionate; lethal force by security forces is permitted only under strict conditions (imminent threat to life, necessity, proportionality).
- If videos or evidence show deliberate, indiscriminate, or excessive lethal force against unarmed civilians exercising peaceful assembly, that would constitute a serious human rights violation and could warrant independent investigation, accountability, and possible international scrutiny.
- Pakistani authorities are habitual liars who have been caught red-handed not once or twice, but dozens of times. Osama bin Laden was protected in a safe house, yet Pakistan claimed to be fighting terrorists. The person who provided the information to the US is in jail simply because his actions exposed Pakistan’s lies at the state level.
Pakistan is systematically “using terror as a political tool to suppress the masses” which is now proven beyond reasonable doubt. The procession started from Rawalakot toward Muzafarabad, without any reason forces fired upon the people more 2 hundred thousands killing as per the count up to now, 11 and injured more than 30 and further more hospital not allowed to tread injured ones. Election is nothing but an hoax.
Graphic and distressing material is circulating that supports protester accounts of lethal force being used. Peaceful protest is a basic right. What Pakistan is doing in AJK is pre-plan, not just reacting to the peaceful protest but using violence to terrorise masses in order to legalise its colonial occupation. To kill people exactly the same as Israel was using force in Gaza to terrorise people to leave their houses and go to Arab countries and vacating space would be used for settlers.
