In recent developments surrounding the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard has publicly criticized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and European leaders, while defending President Donald Trump's approach to seeking peace. Gabbard's statements highlight a growing divergence between U.S. and European perspectives on the war, raising questions about the commitment to democratic values and the pursuit of peace.

Gabbard has accused President Zelenskyy of prioritizing objectives other than peace, suggesting that his actions are prolonging the conflict. She stated that while President Trump is actively working to end Russia's war in Ukraine, "Zelenskyy has different aims in mind"

Furthermore, Gabbard has criticized European nations for their perceived deviation from core American values such as freedom and peace. She highlighted a "double standard" among European leaders, accusing them of not genuinely standing for freedom despite their claims. This criticism underscores a growing rift between the U.S. and its European allies regarding the approach to the Ukraine conflict timesofindia.indiatimes.com.

The tension between President Trump and President Zelenskyy became particularly evident during a recent Oval Office meeting, which reportedly ended with Trump telling Zelenskyy to leave the White House and return when he is ready for peace

Gabbard's defense of President Trump's position and her criticism of Zelenskyy and European leaders reflect a broader debate about the strategies and values guiding international responses to the Ukraine conflict. Her statements suggest a need for reassessing alliances and ensuring that efforts to resolve the war align with genuine commitments to peace and democratic principles.

Two U.S. lawmakers, Tim Burchett and Marjorie Taylor Greene, claim that $40 million per week is still being sent to Afghanistan, where the Taliban are profiting from the funding. Representative Tim Burchett, a Republican from Tennessee, alleged that cash flown into Afghanistan via charter jets is ultimately benefiting the Taliban and Al Qaeda. “Per week, $40 million in taxpayer money is ending up in the hands of the Taliban, and then it’s later being auctioned off,” Burchett said at a press conference. “Cash is flown by charter jets into Afghanistan. It’s auctioned off to the Taliban in order to exchange it for Afghan currency. From there, the Taliban will get it to the NGOs, who have to pay taxes on that money,” he said.
