At least 27 people have died and millions of homes were left underwater after flooding wreaks havoc hit north-eastern India and Bangladesh. Both countries have asked the military to help with the extreme deluge, which officials fear could intensify with further rain forecasted for the weekend. #Bangladesh #India #Flooding
"The flooding in Bangladesh, described by a government expert as potentially the country's worst since 2004, was exacerbated by the runoff from heavy rain across Indian mountains.
In India's Assam state, at least nine people died in the floods and two million others saw their homes submerged in floodwaters, according to the state disaster management agency."
