"The two heads of state spoke several days ahead of a diplomatic forum which is due to take place in the southern Turkish city of Antalya from March 11 to 13 that Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov is due to attend. 

In a statement after their one-hour phone call, Erdogan's spokesman said he told Putin that Turkey was ready to contribute to a peaceful resolution of the conflict, adding that a ceasefire would ease concerns over the humanitarian situation. 

'President Erdogan renewed his call of "let's pave the way for peace together,"' his spokesman said."
