"It is May 2019, and it is the holy month of Ramadan for over a billion Muslims in the world. China is home to millions of Muslims, and the ancient city of Xi'an is famous for its Muslim Quarter, which is home to the oldest mosque in China. My husband and I went to one of the many mosques in the area to break our fast and attend the sunset prayer (maghrib). Unfortunately, many mosques here strictly separate men and women, and the women's prayer spaces are often outside of the actual mosques. I was shocked when we women had our dinner in a space that is usually used as a bathroom! Nonetheless, we had a nice evening, and I had a chance to observe the special Taraweh prayer in four different mosques!"
There are some media outlets especially from India, the West, and some even from Pakistan pumping out stories in the name of Chines Muslims that they are not allowed to practice their religion. This video exposes their lies and political agenda. I am aware that religion has no role in the Chines state system including its majority religion of Buddhism.
