Malik urged the people to keep continue their online participation with ‘Kashmir
Awareness Campaign’ to highlight the human rights situation in Jammu Kashmir.
“As part of the resistance
program the online ‘Kashmir Awareness Campaign’ to highlight the Jammu Kashmir
dispute and the grave human rights situation arising as a consequence of that,
was started at midnight yesterday (Tuesday), the campaign will continue. People
are asked to join it by putting up posts highlighting the dispute, the
situation on ground and their commitment with regard to the resolution of the
dispute,” they said in a statement.
The leadership asked the Kashmiri
diaspora world-wide to associate with the campaign and make efforts to take it
forward. “As part of the campaign a signature petition by the leadership on
behalf of the people of the State of Jammu Kashmir has been launched online as
well,” they said.
The leadership reiterated the
program for July 13. “The day will be commemorated as ‘Youm Tajdeed Ahad’
(renewal of pledge). To pay homage to the martyrs of 13th July 1931 a rally
will be held at Martyrs Graveyard Naqshbanad sahib after Zuhr prayers. Syed Ali
Geerlani would lead a rally from Hyderpora, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq from Jama
Masjid Srinagar and Muhammad Yasin Malik from Maisuma. Complete shutdown will
be observed to mark the day,” they said.
