Is it possible for a human being to watch this image? We are not beast, but human being. How one can see such humiliation of the very source of our life, The Mother? There is no stoning to death in Qur'an, but a pre-Islamic tradition both from pagans and Jewish of that time. The method of punishments to be used as deterrent should be subject to be proved through an empirical test must not exceed its limits and should be according to the norms and values of its time. The fundamental of any penalty is to deliver a justice. This is not justice but to create fear and terror in the minds of slaves, so not to rebel and not to seek freedom. The slavery of women in a male dominated, tribal and feudal societies threaten due to change and improvement. There fore the rulers’ stage drama of beheading and stoning to death on public places just to scare the common masses so to prolong their illegitimate rule. There is no free press or freedom of information which is the basis to know for specific society of its crime rates and the trend subject to its justice system and remedies.
The science of criminology proved the notion wrong that by exhibiting or resorting to pre-history methods of punishments are carry any substance of deterrence against crime. It is proper education system, fair and transparent justice system, better understanding of human behaviour/psychology, inherent habits and trends of a society may the reasons that make difference in term of crime reduction.
