I think before asking questions like "best solution", we have to clarify ourself: What do we mean by freedom and do we believe freedom or we are just the prisoners of our culture of self-righteousness and circumstances of racial and religious tribal notion of domination? If we believe in freedom, there is nothing called "accession" to start with. The notion of accessions are between sovereign and independent states, where the states asked the citizens by conducting a referendum to approve the segment of sovereignty to share with an other state. For any accession or succession, there have to be sovereign state at the first place. There fore the people of the state of Kashmir (J&K) (IoK+PoK) have to be sovereign, have to agreed first among themselves for their own constitution. To reach and achieve this stage, they have to have a right of free access to each others and to share their life in terms of culture, economics, and social life. People must have free movement, to make political parties to join any political party. In the present circumstances, there is no free movement between PoK and IoK. How it is possible for people to involve in to future political process. The recitation of accession for last 63 years is nothing but to divert the issue to sweep it under the carpet by using Kashmir as a source of conflict. This is helping no one but harming every one.
United Kashmir Journal is non profit activities aiming at high lighting human rights issues with special focus on forcibly divided land/people of the State of Jammu Kashmir. We recognise the fact of diverse narratives between people of different cultural entities, a natural aspect of every society. There fore United States of Kashmir in our opinion would be best answer to all diverse narratives; capable of and guarantee for long lasting peace in the region.
